LuftCar, a U.S.-based company specializing in hydrogen-powered AAM electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles and mobility infrastructure, has announced the establishment of a new regional office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The move signals the company’s commitment to advancing the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem across the Middle East and North Africa. With existing headquarters in Florida and a growing global presence, LuftCar offers capabilities in hydrogen-electric VTOL vehicle development, vertiport infrastructure planning, and AI-powered airspace optimization tools. The expansion into the UAE is intended to position the company as a key player in the region’s urban air mobility and clean aviation future.
The new Dubai office will deliver a suite of turnkey AAM solutions, including strategic planning and AAM readiness consulting, vertiport planning, design, and construction, and deployment of LuftPAATH. LuftPAATH is described as a proprietary AI software platform for vertiport siting, corridor modeling, and mission deployment. The office will also support hydrogen infrastructure integration and zero-emission operations.
LuftCar’s expansion builds upon its established presence in the UAE, which includes a strategic partnership with Micromap, a regional geospatial and smart infrastructure firm. Together, the companies delivered the Dubai Horizon II Air Mobility project for Dubai Municipality. This project showcased advanced GIS-based vertiport planning, obstacle mapping, and airspace modeling for the urban integration of AAM.
Santh Sathya, CEO and Inventor of LuftCar, stated, “We are excited to work alongside UAE stakeholders to co-develop scalable vertiport infrastructure and lay the foundation for the future of mobility.”
As part of its long-term strategy, LuftCar intends to manufacture its patented modular air-and-road eVTOL vehicles in the UAE for the wider Middle East market. The company also plans to establish green hydrogen mobility corridors, which will be supported by integrated LuftPads—vertiports with hydrogen refueling capability. This initiative is designed to contribute to the UAE’s Net Zero 2050, Make it in the Emirates, and Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan goals.
LuftCar’s global activities include scaled autonomous prototype development, a purchase order for 19 vehicles, and collaboration with several state-run Department of Transportation entities for vertiport integration. The company also has ongoing vertiport engagements in the US, an LOI for air ambulance use, MOUs with four global airports, expanding interest from the airport and defense sectors, and an expression of interest from air cargo companies.
