This role is especially suited for engineers with a strong background in DO-178C compliance, embedded V&V testing, and real-time operating systems.

Senior GNC Engineer – Flight Control Verification
Pivotal is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to focus on requirements definition, verification, and validation of GNC features for our eVTOL aircraft. This role emphasizes developing testable requirements, designing simulation and flight test cases, and ensuring that safety-critical features such as flight envelope limiters and state estimation are robust across worst-case scenarios. The position requires close collaboration with flight test, systems, and controls teams to validate designs at both the simulation and aircraft levels.

Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer – Power, Propulsion & Hardware
As a Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer focused on Power, Propulsion, and Hardware, you will be responsible for ensuring subsystems and systems are rigorously tested and validated across the full product lifecycle—from development and integration through production and field support. You will collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and flight test teams to define and execute test plans, develop supporting infrastructure, and drive system maturity for our eVTOL platform.

Motor Controls Engineer – R&D
Pivotal is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Motor Controls Engineer to help develop, implement, and validate control algorithms for electric motors used on our eVTOL aircraft. The engineer will work across modeling, simulation, embedded implementation, and test activities to ensure precise, efficient, and reliable motor control performance under all flight conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in motor control algorithm development and motor controller software architecture along with professional automotive, industrial robotics or aviation experience.

Senior Flight Test Engineer
You are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing flight test activities to validate the performance, handling qualities, and safety of our UAS and crewed eVTOL aircraft. This includes developing detailed test plans and procedures, supporting ground and flight tests, and analyzing results to ensure accurate data capture and reporting. You work cross-functionally with engineering, flight operations, and certification teams to ensure all testing aligns with program milestones and regulatory requirements. A strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement is essential in this role as we progress toward certification and commercial operation.

Senior Procurement Engineer
As we enter commercial operations, we are seeking an experienced procurement engineer to collaborate with design and project management teams to ensure procured items meet project requirements, quality standards, and budgets while managing supplier relationships and contracts.

Senior Quality Engineer 
We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with a strong background in composites manufacturing and inspection to join our Quality & Manufacturing Engineering team. The ideal candidate is first and foremost a hands-on manufacturing engineer who is passionate about process quality, understands pre-preg composite layup and curing, and can ensure compliance to AS9100D, ISO 9001, and aerospace best practices.
