Brazilian technology company Xmobots has introduced Xmobots Vision, a strategic initiative focused on creating autonomous aerial platforms to connect interior regions and distant cities.
While many global “flying car” projects prioritize short urban commutes, this program targets the structural challenges of mobility between economically productive regions separated by significant distances or limited ground infrastructure. The technology currently under development envisions an autonomous platform capable of transporting two passengers up to 300 kilometers. These vehicles are designed to operate from everyday locations, such as parking areas, bypassing the need for traditional airports or specialized vertiports.

The technical architecture of the system relies on onboard artificial intelligence, advanced perception systems, and redundant avionics. This combination is intended to facilitate safe, pilotless operations for both civilian and specialized use cases. Beyond passenger travel, the technology has potential applications within the defense sector, with a specific variant planned for intelligence, surveillance, logistics, and troop transport missions.
According to company estimates, the first commercially relevant applications of this distributed regional autonomous air mobility are expected to emerge within the next decade.
