Volocopter Technologies and ADAC Luftrettung are strengthening their strategic partnership to accelerate the integration of the VoloCity eVTOL aircraft into emergency medical services in Germany.
This collaboration builds on a joint initiative launched in 2018, when ADAC Luftrettung partnered with the Institute for Emergency Medicine and Medical Management (INM) at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich to evaluate the feasibility of eVTOL deployment in air rescue using computer-assisted simulations.
Following Volocopter’s acquisition by Diamond Aircraft, the partnership has gained renewed momentum and enhanced capabilities. Volocopter brings advanced technological innovation, certification leadership, and market-ready solutions, now backed by Diamond Aircraft’s aerospace expertise. ADAC Luftrettung contributes decades of operational experience and mission-critical insight from frontline emergency services.
The collaboration is designed to support the VoloCity’s positioning as a leading platform for urban air mobility and air rescue missions. ADAC Luftrettung will conduct practical integration of the VoloCity into live rescue scenarios, gaining invaluable operational insights as it prepares for the transition to sustainable, electric aviation.
The VoloCity enables ADAC Luftrettung to develop a tailored testing program that meets the unique demands of air rescue operations. This real-world validation process will inform future deployment strategies and ensure operational readiness for safe and effective eVTOL implementation.
Together, Volocopter Technologies and ADAC Luftrettung aim to shape the future of emergency air rescue by combining cutting-edge innovation with operational excellence and a shared commitment to transforming medical response through sustainable air mobility.
