Today Joby and Abdul Latif Jameel announced that they’ve entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore the sale of up to 200 aircraft in Saudi Arabia—valued at approximately $1 billion. The agreement builds on a long-standing relationship: the Jameel family invested in Joby’s Series C funding round in 2020. 

• Establishing a distribution agreement in Saudi Arabia: The two businesses will work together to explore distribution and sales collaborations, the launch of local air taxi services, and pilot training. In the long-term, Abdul Latif Jameel and Joby also see potential revenue opportunities across the Middle East. 
• Multiple Pathways to Market: The agreement builds on Joby’s uniquely aligned coalition of strategic partners and investors, including Toyota, Delta, and Uber. Together, these relationships create an ecosystem that gives Joby multiple, high-confidence routes to revenue—from aircraft sales to commercial operations—accelerating Joby’s path to scale.
• Bringing America’s leadership in electric air mobility to the world: The UAE and broader Middle East offer a high-impact proving ground for Joby’s aircraft—allowing the company to showcase U.S.-built technology, safety standards, and operational readiness on the world stage.
