Líder Aviação Executive Aviation Company beställer AAM-flygplan och lägger till BETA Technologies växande orderbok

Líder Aviação has placed a firm order for three ALIA VTOL aircraft, with options for up to 50 additional aircraft — a mix of ALIA VTOL and ALIA CTOL aircraft This order represents BETA’s entry into the Brazilian market

Líder Aviação, the longest running and largest business aviation company in Brazil, has placed a firm order for a mix of electric vertical takeoff and landing ALIA VTOL aircraft and its electric fixed wing ALIA CTOL aircraft manufactured by U.S.-based electric aerospace company, BETA Technologies. Líder plans to integrate the next-generation aircraft into its existing fleet for passenger charter operations.

Líder currently offers aircraft chartering and management, aircraft sales, offshore helicopter operations for the oil & gas industry, aircraft maintenance, ground handling and airport services, and other related services across Brazil. BETA’s electric aircraft will add another platform to that portfolio. With its high reliability, low cost, and vertical capabilities, it will offer increased mobility and access to intracity and regional passenger transport at a fraction of the cost, allowing residents to avoid traffic congestion, access timely medical care, and increase business’ shipping and cargo capabilities.

In addition to the purchase of BETA’s technology, Líder will serve as the company’s authorized sales representative (ASR) in Brazil. As an experienced MRO services provider with the premier fleet of fixed and rotary wing aircraft in Brazil, Líder will help BETA grow its fleet of electric aircraft and deploy charging infrastructure throughout the country.

“After years studying the electric aircraft market, we chose to partner with BETA due to the clever concept of their aircraft, the maturity of the project, their ability to design and manufacture the aircraft’s key components and recharging system, and the alignment with our vision for the future. This is a milestone for aviation in Brazil, and we are excited with this partnership,” says Júnia Hermont, CEO of Líder Aviação .

“Brazil is a powerhouse in global aviation, with more than 98 million domestic passengers annually and the second largest civil aviation fleet in the world,” said Patrick Buckles, BETA’s Sales Lead. “Over the past 66 years Líder has established itself as a leader in this market, offering top-tier passenger, cargo and medical transport operations, and unparalleled MRO service. We couldn’t imagine a better partner to enter this new market with, and we look forward to all that’s to come.” BETA is in production on its all-electric aircraft, including the ALIA VTOL and its conventional counterpart, the ALIA CTOL. Both aircraft optimize for payload and range, fit for regional or intra-city transport with the ability to carry up to 567 kgs of payload or five passengers and a pilot, depending on the configuration. In addition to its aircraft, BETA is also rolling out an electric charging network across the U.S. Today, there are more than 50 BETA chargers online along the east, west, and gulf coasts – with additional sites under development.

BETA has conducted many real-world flight missions, including an 8,000 nm journey across North America, and a three-month series of flights throughout seven European countries. The company has showcased the maturity of its technology, landing at more than 100 airports in the U.S., flying through international airspace, completing deployments and exercises with the U.S. Air Force, and achieving the industry’s first full, crewed transition in a production-intent vehicle. The company produces these aircraft and chargers in its 188,500 square foot production facility in Vermont. These aircraft and chargers will be delivered to BETA’s growing base of customers, which includes global operators across cargo and logistics, medical, defense, and passenger applications, including UPS, Air New Zealand, Republic Airways, United Therapeutics, Bristow, Helijet, Metro Aviation, the U.S. Department of Defense, and now Líder, among several others.
