The competition commenced at the Alpena Harbor in Thunder Bay, where teams initiated the maritime segment by navigating unmanned watercraft to a boat located five nautical miles offshore and returning to the harbor. In Michigan’s Uncrewed Triple Challenge, SiFly didn’t just break the world record—they shattered it. Their Q12 drone completed two consecutive 26-mile flights while carrying a 10-pound payload, enduring strong winds up to 32 mph. This achievement more than doubled the previous world record for multirotor drones, which stood at 11 miles.
