System)<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong><\/p>\n<p>Volledige benadering van vluchttesten<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>ERC heeft er bewust voor gekozen om vanaf het begin op representatieve schaal en massa te testen, in plaats van te beginnen met prototypes op kleine schaal of met een gereduceerd gewicht, zoals veel eVTOL-ontwikkelaars doen. Het bedrijf stelt dat deze aanpak cruciaal is voor het valideren van voortstuwingsarchitecturen, energie- en thermisch beheer, en gedrag van de vluchtbesturing onder realistische belastingsomstandigheden, aangezien de fysica van vliegtuigen met verticaal opstijgen en landen niet lineair schaalt.<\/p>\n<p>De strategie bouwt voort op ervaringen die zijn opgedaan met ERC's demonstrator van de eerste generatie, Echo, een platform op ware grootte met een startgewicht van ongeveer 2.700 kg dat in 2023 voor het eerst vloog in Manching, Duitsland. Echo valideerde de kerncapaciteiten voor verticaal opstijgen en landen gedurende meer dan 100 testdagen in 2023, en leverde inzichten op systeemniveau op het gebied van gedistribueerde elektrische voortstuwing en thermisch beheer.<\/p>\n<p>Romeo beschikt over een zelfontwikkelde vliegtuigstructuur en geavanceerde redundante systemen, en heeft vliegtoestemming gekregen van de Duitse burgerluchtvaartautoriteit, het Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA). Het vliegtuig wordt ge\u00ebxploiteerd in overeenstemming met de toepasselijke EASA-normen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Productievliegtuig Charlie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>De testvluchtcampagne ondersteunt de ontwikkeling van ERC's geplande productievliegtuig, de Charlie, een hybride-elektrisch, bemand vliegtuig dat gericht is op typecertificering in 2031 onder EASA's Special Condition VTOL (SC-VTOL) normen. De Charlie is ontworpen voor interhospitaal pati\u00ebntentransport en heeft een beoogd maximaal startgewicht van 7.275 lb (3.300 kg), een nuttige lading van 1.102 lb (500 kg) en een maximaal bereik van 497 mijl (800 km).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe zijn verheugd deze belangrijke mijlpaal te hebben bereikt in onze missie om luchttransport economisch haalbaarder te maken, vooral voor kritieke missies\u201d, aldus Dr. David L\u00f6bl, medeoprichter en CEO. \u201cHet bemande vliegtuig dat we in 2031 willen certificeren, is hybride-elektrisch.
